Artist's Comments:
siren figures by Khnopff, Sappho by August Mengin

both artist's images are in free usage according to the traditional formula of life of the artist + 75 years. They've been dead a while.
The siren figure I've used a LOT...to the point it became almost a challenge to see how many ways I could use it & not (totally) repeat myself. I eventually reached that point. I'll still use siren imagery (if I can find or create it) - the siren is a personal archetypal image/symbol for me...but not this one. I love the work of Khnopff (Fernand), & after doing a quick google search, it would appear that Sappho is the only work by Mengin that anybody cared (s) about.
